The sixth edition of the competition for the best bachelor’s and master’s theses in the field of business tourism has been decided. The jury, comprising representatives from the academic world, MICE industry experts and members of the Association, assessed the entries. The competition is organised by the Conferences and Congresses in Poland Association.
The Chair of the Judging Panel, Paula Fanderowska, Director of the Polish Tourist Organisation’s International Centre, said:
– The concept of the competition, which has been running for several years now, remains unchanged. Its aim is to promote business tourism as a vital part of the tourism sector, generating a significant economic impact for cities and regions. By recognising the best entries, the competition provides an opportunity to showcase talented young people entering the sector’s job market.
Ms Katarzyna Kośniewska submitted a thesis in the bachelor’s thesis category entitled “The impact of consumer trends on the development of wedding products in Poland”, in which she addressed the topic of the wedding industry as an integral part of the meetings industry. Mr Michał Smorczewski submitted a thesis in the master’s thesis category entitled “Awareness and engagement of employees in the hospitality sector in Poland in activities promoting sustainable development”, in which he addressed the topic of sustainable development in the hospitality sector, a subject of significant importance for the industry’s contemporary development.
By decision of the Jury, first place was awarded in the bachelor’s thesis category and second place in the master’s thesis category. A prize of PLN 2,000 was awarded to Ms Katarzyna Kośniewska, and the statutory prize of PLN 1,000 to Mr Michał Smorczewski. In addition to the cash prizes, the winners receive support from the SKKP in establishing contacts within the industry, including participation in industry meetings organised by the Association.
The SKKP will continue to organise the competition and will soon begin accepting entries for its seventh edition.
